Choosing the Right Hosting Plan

Not sure which Catholic Website Hosting plan to choose? We'll walk you through the basics with this tutorial. For terms you don't understand, check out the glossary at the bottom of this page.

BRONZE - Order Now!

A Bronze Hosting Plan generally covers a one page website, also sometimes called an online brochure. Bronze sites usually have a low volume of traffic.

Having 2 to 5 images and/or pictures usually keeps your website within the 5 mega-byte limit. A bronze site can have a decent amount of text.

SILVER - Order Now!

Most websites fall under the Silver Hosting Plan. With more features and a great price, this plan offers excellent value.

The Silver Hosting Plan covers websites that are usually 3 to 6 pages. Each page averages 2 to 7 images and/or pictures.

Silver sites usually have a normal volume of traffic. The Silver Plan's mega-byte limit far exceeds the limit of a Bronze plan.

GOLD - Order Now!

A Gold Hosting Plan generally covers the website of a small business, medium Church or small to mid-size organization. It is usually 4 to 15 pages, but could be more or less depending on the size of the pages.

A Gold website is typically database driven, meaning that the site can have a few more complex functions such as a photo gallery, shopping cart or message board. Medium to semi-heavy traffic is usual.

PLATINUM - Order Now!

The Platinum Hosting Plan covers the website of a larger business, large Church community or large organization. It can often have 15+ pages.

Databases on a Platinum site are more complex and more numerous. Medium to large photo galleries are often found. Heavy traffic is generally encountered in a Platinum site.

PRICING

As you can see, the rates for our hosting plans are broken down in different payment plans.

The 1 month plan gives the price if you were to pay on a monthly basis. For example, the Bronze plan has the price of $12.95 per month if you were to pay once a month.

The 3, 6 and 12 month plans offer discounts for paying in larger increments. For example, the 12 month plan costs $119.40 which gives you hosting service for the entire year. On the other hand, since the 1 month plan costs $12.95 a month, your total cost for the year would be $155.45. Thus, you can save a substantial amount of money by using the 3, 6 or 12 month plans.

GO FOR IT!

Now that we've explained the hosting plans, hopefully you are ready to choose the right plan for your website. And remember, if you choose a plan that is too big or small for your site, we will notify you and help you correct it. Upgrading or downgrading is always free.

GLOSSARY

Disk Space - This is the amount of storage room that is available for your website. Think of it like this: your website is basically a large file that needs to be stored somewhere. The amount of disk space needed for your website depends on how big your website's file is.

Bandwidth - This is the term used to describe the amount of information that is passed between your website and the people who visit your site. When a person views your site, clicks on links, views images, and basically interacts with your site in any way, this means that information is being sent back and forth. So, the more bandwidth you have for your site, the faster it will load and the more people can access your information.

Email/FTP Accounts - These are your actual email accounts where you can send and receive email. Depending on the hosting plan, you can choose a number of different email addresses, all with your domain name at the end. Examples: sean@maryshop.com, sales@maryshop.com, etc.

Parked/Addon Domains - Some people like to have a variety of different domains that all take the web surfer to the same website. You can do this easily through our services. This is called a parked, or add-on, domain.

Control Panel - The control panel is amazing. It is the place where you can control different parts of your website, such as making email accounts, uploading pictures, and viewing your web stats, ie. how many people have visited your webpage and where they came from.
